The first weekend / Die erste Wochende
Well actually I was already back in Zurich last last sunday after spending in total 12 hours in train all the way from Hungary to Switzerland. The train ride was crazy, we woke up 5am on that day to catch a bus to the train station for the 7am train. We then changed train at Vienna around 11am, then had to transfer to coach once we reached some other city in Austria because the rail track was under repair, then finally we changed back to train again and reached zurich only around 8pm at night :S Confusing route eh?!
Anyways, last weekend sam and I went to Langstrasse (long street) fest. Initially we weren't very keen on going because it was around 10plus at night and we just felt lazy. But once we reached there, seeing that it was so crowded and happening, we didn't regret at all!
It was really hard to inch forward because there was really just too many people!

Almost all of the bar stalls are selling this drink called "Caipirinha" which I suppose is a brazillian alcoholic cocktail. So we ordered one!

It is filled with crushed ice and a few pieces of lemon. The alchohol content doesn't seem high and it was really too little and too expensive. One glass costs us 10Francs, equivalent to 13 SGD! Not even thirst-quenching :S

Then we walked on and on, as the road name suggests, the street is really long and very cosmopolitan! There were people from Brazil, Pakistan, China, Thailand and so many more. But its only after that night then I got to know that Langstrasse is like our Geyland in Singapore :S
The crowd just camouflaged away the sex shops and clubs lining along the street that night.

This reminds me of Satay, except that for this, the meat sticks are encircling the fire.
And we got ourselves one stick! But not exactly from that stall because we figured out that the other stall (not shown in pic) sells more tempting sticks. And on first bite, it really tasted GOOD, or rather HEAVENLY!!!
But this is also expensive, in fact everything here in zurich is expensive.
Make a guess how much does that one stick of meat (about 20cm long) costs.

13 CHF ($16.90)
More than the cost of one main dish in an average restaurant in singapore!
