OKTOBERFEST
i guess this title is universal, such that I don't have to do both a english and german version.
We took a train at 7.18am in the morning and finally reached Munich at 11.28am that same day. With the BIG welcome signboard in multi language behind me!

On the way to Oktoberfest. If you are wondering like how I used to, Oktoberfest doesn't take place all around Munich, it is actually this HUGE funfair area.
Over here, people really like pre-party party, they would gather at some people house or whatsoever to drink first before going for the actual party. Above illustrates this point; drinking at the train station.....
There was also so many germans wearing their traditional clothes, really an eye-opener and something that made me feel that it is really the OKTOBERFEST!

What the girl is wearing is called Dirndl while the guy wears lederhose (leather trousers).
It really looks good on girls, with those bust-lifting blouse inside, but it is also very expensive, costing normally 160 SGD.

Upon reaching, I saw this first! Looks fo fun, but I really drank too much and ate too much that day and I dare not take the ride, I think I might just vomit-rain :S

There are so many other interesting rides (look in the background of the photo above) and of course MANY MANY people.

And MORE people....

ONE metre long sausage! in a 50cm long bun. It really looks so comical, like a oversize sausage in a small bun.
And a few beer halls that are already full and closed to public. One must book the ticket to enter about a year in advance and god knows how much it costs.

Thats Paulaner Beer Hall behind, you know it right? We have it in Singapore.
Yet another beer garden...
and another....
Ahh, this one is worth mentioning. It is perhaps the most famous Beer Brewery in Munich, look! It has a crown above the building. I didn't get to try it though...
Other than beer and dressing in traditional clothes, wearing one of this gingerbread heart is also very common in Oktoberfest. There are many choices of wordings, like Oktoberfest, Ich liebe dich ( i love u), Du bist sehr suess ( u r so sweet), Du bist mein Sonnenschein (u r my sunshine) etc....
And finally, after trying a few beer halles, a few of us managed to find seats in 'Spaten' beer garden. Not only that, we were lucky to meet this really funny and nice german uncle who treated us 3 big glass of beer that are worth 3 litres! PROST (cheers)!
Spaten apparently isn't very popular but I swear that it is very smooth and good in quality too.

A sip from Joanna....
and a sip from me... (i like this photo <3)
and it is almost gone. But before we could finish it, the nice uncle ordered another "fresh" beer again for us...
We sat outside like this. These people just go very early and sit there till night falls. Losing your seat is more scary than losing your beer because without a seat, you can't order more beer!
After all those drinking, we all got so red and high~~
But we didn't stop, it was time for some pork knuckles!
Squeezing through the crowd in the queue, we finally got our pork knuckle in semmel bread. It is too salty to eat on its own. Gosh, it really tasted sooo good albeit sinful!
The drinking cap. At least now you can't say my brain is empty like a bimbo :P

We finally left the ground because it was way too crowded and we can't get hold of more beer anyway... Dinner with the whole big group of Singaporeans on exchange in Switzerland and Germany. There were 3 table of 16 person altogether.Thats pork knuckle with potato to go with of course, beer!
Actually I was only drinking plain water that night :P

Ordered Apfelkuecherl. Thats 3 fried apple dough with cream and ice cream. I think I got more sweet tooth than ever!!
Finally, its goodbye Oktoberfest! It was really like a dream came true for me to know how Oktoberfest is like but I doubt I would go again, there is so much more to explore and see =)
