Budapest

Instead of telling you the german name for this hungarian capital, (because its the same as the english name), I am gonna tell you how to pronounce it properly! Its buda pesch!

This would sum up the whole eastern pre-semester backpack trip of year 2008, yea, i am soo late in doing this. Its so time-consuming! But today, I have time to chill abit, so yea ;)

Budapest had the most "eastern" europe feel for me, more than Czech or Poland. The people there dyed their hair, to pink, blonde, or some weird colours. Most of the Hungarian we met, have black hair like us, u see. The city wasn't very clean or organized, it felt like malaysia to me seriously. Plus the old-fashioned fashion, in fact, i only remembered buying a top from czech for this whole trip!

But Budapest has more to offer: Top has to be Roman Bath!

It was one of those things that I wanted to do very much before we embarked on this trip! And we did! It costed like 20odd sing dollars and there was like people in every pool, indoor, outdoor, wave pool, 15deg cel pool, 40 deg cel pool, aromatic pool, steam room, everywhere was literally saturated! Of course, I didn't take any photo, but here is one i googled

Everyone there, the angmohs, were in bikinis, but we, one piece!

The indoor looks like:

Very excited to finally locate it!

We stayed in some very ulu and bad-conditioned hostel. We weren't allowed to lock the room, the sheets were crumpled and the blankets looked like they haven't been washed for years, there was free breakfast, but it was really just bread loaves and jams which didn't look very hygienic, we skipped it. Poof! I actually said that all in a sentence. But that was really like the worst you would ever get in europe (at least for me)

Better food:

See, Suetchian is already smiling at the food and not the camera.

From Budapest, Hungary

Refreshed after the bath! One good thing is that we could afford to indulgence ourselves in food & drinks in eastern europe. Expenses for dining in cafe or restaurant is just like in Sg! 10odds for each main course :D

We found a market that sells fresh vege & fruits, plus cooked food! Hungarian food consists of alot of paprika (red chilli pepper), tomato and meat! They like to stuff meat into paprika, quite unique ;)

Time to step out...

Parliament House

Hero Square, it was so hot that day, Maybelle, Jo & I went to hide in the Museum nearby and fell asleep while Sam & Willy had fun with the statues and crowd.

Buda and Pest makes up Budapest, the city. Buda and Pest are separated by a river (forgot the name!)

Hello, I am at Pest! Sitting high up at the old castle, enjoying the view of Buda...

Ruins of the castle.

I was intrigued by how vivid the faces and posture of the figures are...

The group says bye Budapest, bye Hungary, bye eastern europe!
